The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1841 in Daleville is a local military 501(c)3 organization that supports Botetourt County veterans and local community. In 2024 our post has been involved in so many ways including;

- Providing meals and continuing visits to veterans residing in local hospitals

- Offering support to veterans related to their benefits

- Awarding local high school aged children’s scholarships (Voice of Democracy)

- Awarding local middle school aged children’s scholarships (Patriot’s Pen)

- Participating in local Veteran’s Day and Patriot’s Day programs throughout the area

- Conducting flag collection and retirement ceremonies

- Donating to local 4th of July fireworks programs

- Offering a low-cost rental space for Churches, Organizations and other members of the community

 

Our goal in 2025 is to do even more. We would like to host many more events at the post benefitting the health and camaraderie of those that served in our nation’s armed services. This is becoming more difficult as our building continues to age and the cost of maintenance increases. We look to our local businesses for donations that help support our continued efforts. We need your help. We are looking for donations of any amount, but here are some ideas of how your generous gift will help us.

- A donation of over $5,000 will greatly help our post pay for needed roof repairs, and furnace upgrades.

- A donation of $1,000 to $5,000 will help pay our annual electric, telephone, and internet bills, or keep our propane tank full.

- A donation of $500 to $1,000 will pay for 2 -3 breakfast/lunch events at the local hospital.

- A donation of less than $500 will pay for snacks to be served to all attendees of events at the post.
